Boplaas Family Vineyards & Distilling has recently opened a satellite tasting room at Old Nick Village. Guests can taste and purchase the entire range of Boplaas wine, port, and spirits at cellar door prices.

About Boplaas

Situated in Calitzdorp, Boplaas Family Vineyards & Distilling has been owned by 6 generations of the Nel family. They have tended vines and crafted wines since 1880, the same year Boplaas sent their first export consignment of Brandy to London.

Today, the 6th generation has joined the business. Boplaas is a leader and pioneer in the production of Cape Port and Portuguese variety table wines. Their father, Cellar Master Carel, is a member of the esteemed Cape Winemakers Guild. The eldest daughter heads up marketing and is assisted by brother Daniel, who is also responsible for distilling a wide range of spirits which includes, Brandy, Whisky and Gin.

The second daughter is the Winemaker. She has completed her MSc on the Portuguese varieties of table wines.
